Celebrating Christina: A Graduation Portrait Session at FAU

I had the pleasure of photographing Christina's graduation session recently, and I’m excited to share the journey with you! Christina reached out to me about a month before her session, and I was thrilled to learn she was referred by a past client of mine—a friend of hers she met through work. It’s always wonderful to see connections come full circle!

After we chatted about her vision for the shoot, I shared a Pinterest board filled with pose ideas and inspiration to help her visualize what she wanted. Christina decided on a few spots on campus at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL as the perfect backdrop for her photos.

We initially scheduled our session for a weekend, but when we arrived, we discovered that the football stadium was closed. No worries, though! We embraced the situation and captured some fantastic shots at the breezeway—one of the most popular photo spots on campus—and in front of the iconic FAU sign.

To ensure Christina got the photos she dreamed of, we arranged a second meet-up later that week. She was eager to capture images inside the stadium, and I was more than happy to accommodate her request. After all, it’s all about making my clients happy and ensuring they have no regrets!

Christina brought her boyfriend along, who was a great help in holding her cap and gown when she wasn’t wearing them. I love when clients have a support system with them—it really adds to the fun and energy of the shoot!

Even though the weather was a bit windy that day, we worked together to create beautiful images. I made sure to wait for the wind to settle so Christina could feel comfortable and confident. She mentioned feeling a little unsure about posing, but I must say, she was a natural in front of the camera! I guided her through poses that highlighted her features while incorporating the inspiration she had found on Pinterest.

The entire session was filled with laughter and genuine moments. Christina is one of the sweetest people I’ve had the pleasure of working with, and I truly hope she achieves everything she dreams of in her future—she absolutely deserves it!

Cheers to Christina on her graduation and all the incredible things that lie ahead!
